FleX-RAY M9 Meeting Update

July 26, 2021

On the 23rd of June, our meeting took place online, marking the 9th month since the launch of our Horizon2020 FleX-RAY project. The consortium partners presented their progress, tackled preliminary results and discussed future actions and tasks.

In short, TWI Hellas presented a summary of the progress and achievements so far, and then the respective partners focused on reviewing each research area. RISE gave a presentation on scintillating fibre manufacturing, and OPTE shared updates on the fibre coupling development. In turn, the University of Sheffield elaborated on image reconstruction algorithm development while Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (FHHI) provided information on 3D shape sensing development. Last but not least, TWI Hellas informed everyone on hardware development and project management matters, plus FHHI addressed dissemination and exploitation.

During the meeting, many fruitful discussions arose on the different technical aspects of the project as to take the project to the next level and explore different opportunities to elevate our work and enhance our prospective results.

Let us hope that we all enjoy our summer holidays. Be sure to stick around for more updates on FleX-RAY soon!
